Hi there all,

I bought a BT v 2.0 USB 2 dongle to use with myy k750 (in so far as it is Bluetoth 2.0), and received it today. Unfortunately, it shipped with Bluesoleil (what a piece of s....! Sorry...). SO once installed and properly set up (3 hours...), I gave it a spin about file transfer.

First thing: it really works. But I was just wondering how it was possible to fully test the advantages of Bluetooth 2.0 ? Transfer rate should be much faster, and in my case, it is, but not that much... Before, I had 12-24 Ko/s with my old but faithful BT 1.1 dongle. Now, when I receive data from my phone, I reach 25-60. Wasn't it supposed to send and receive at 1 Mb per second ?

Anlso, are there better drivers than Bluesoleil 1.6 ? I am jut wondering how I could use my dongle to its maximum possibilities.

Thanks a lot !

BTW, here it is:

Can I ask where you bought it from and how much? I've been looking for one too.

Cheers!

Well don't laugh, but it was on... ebay! I bought my previous one from it as well and it worked flawlessly for three years.

It was pretty cheap to boot: I paid this BT 2.0 dongle 9.5 Euros, shipping from HK to France included.

Here it is:item: 5815822290

Cheers !

Not sure about how to test the full potential, though I think the transfer speed might more be a factor from the phone side.. > Under 10 euro :-o is a steal ! Damn, I paid almost thrice back when I got mine from erstwhile baazee.com (now ebay.in).. Could you get another :b: BT 2.0 dongle and set up two comps to test them with each other. As for drivers, I do remember threads here at Esato and think Zedge talking about it, sorry dunno exactly which.

I currently use the Bluesoleil driver for windows XP... which is pretty unstable...

May I use the much better WIDCOMM drivers with it ? Does it work for USB 2 and most of all Bluetooth 2.0 ? I found a link via google, but there's no download available...

Windows XP Service Pack 2 brought me the final solution!
I finally hae access to the "send to" option on Windows (to send a file on the fly in Windows explorer).

Data tranfer rate not improved, though... (41-45 Ko/s max in Bluetooth 2.0 it seems...).

I don't use this shi..... Bluesoleil software anymore!

What a relief !
