Ok just got my K600 on orange, very nice, love the phone so far!
Can anyone clear some stuff up for me please.
The small symbol next to the regular gsm singal is indicating ive got 3g coverage right?
Also is there supposed to be a seperate entry in the data comm area for 3g settings? All ive got is wap, mms and gprs. |

1. the blue strange symbol indicates UMTS coverage. When it's there you've got coverage, when it's not there you don't. (this is on firmware of course, could look very diiferent on branded firmware)
2. There is no separate set of settings for UMTS afaik. It'll use your gprs settings.

1. Same as above Totally right.
2. (To clarify) A 3G-phone uses the same settings as your normal gprs-enabled phone. It's just that the phone and the sim-card knows that they can do it faster, and therefor do it faster. So no different settings, as said above.

I beg to differ my Z1010 could switch between 2g and 3G, Might have been because it was a developers version.

no, we are talking about the option to use 2g and/or 3g. in k600 u can choose to set it, in z1010 there wasnt this option in the menu.

@Marq and Boba- Thanx, think I got it now. Was anyway something I should have known, understood, had I got more brains and used it.
@Trilok- Guess you gotta post that some place else for more visibility than this section.

Thing I like about the K600i, is I am able to swap between 2g and 3g without the phone having to reboot, like the Nokia's do. Means I can swap back and forth, with ease, as I am in an area of low coverage, so to save battery life, I just knock it on and off when ever I please.
