k700 or moto RAZR v3? |

this might be a bit of an odd question to ask, not to mention dated, but which one would you choose guys?
i have a K700, but after aesthetics problems with the brown quickshare sticker AND the online button, i have decided to either replace it with the RAZR, or stick with the eyesore that is my K700. so disregarding the cost, which phone do you think would better suit me?
i need a phone which is durable, which can last me for maybe a year or 2. the phone also needs to have good reception and good voice calling and messaging capabilities. camera, form factor and memory is not really a consideration. so what be it? |

i just got a v3 (black version)
& this phone is a keeper.... i love it more than any SE i ever had..
it takes some time to get used to it's UI
but it's OS got more options than the k700 ...
like you can copy number or words .. you can customise you'r interface & menus ...
i think i will be a motorola person from now on....
I am still waiting for the v3x to come out...though |

Since you are fed up with the 700, i would that you go for the moto razr. It looks stunning, also has more versatility.

Without a radio function is a big downside! |

if cost is not a factor and you want something that looks good, why not go for the nokia 8800. the razr's a good option if you're only considering that and your k700. and if you don't aren't too particular about the frills, how about the nokia 6030?

The V3 seriously sucks balls, I had three in a 6 month period all with problems. Now I have a K750 which is fantastic in comparison.
V3 Problems:
- Slow - reeeeal slow to respond to button presses
- shit camera (no flash, 640-480)
- random lock ups- Syncing with a PC was practically impossible, worked about 25% of the time and that was only to get pics off the camera, contacts syncing never worked.
- didn't charge half the time
- evey bugger has got one now
- I got caught in a rainstorm and the V3 was in my top pocket, under my coat - it got slightly wet, and I mean slightly, and it completely locked, had to return on the insurence.
-Buttons look cool but actually have almost zero feedback that you have pressed them so difficult to use.
-crappy motorola interface
Good things:
- looks thin.
Thats it.

I sent my RAZR back after a week and got myself a W800i .. the V3 is a nice looking phone with some good features and I did like the keypad .. but .. the memory was a big issue for me .. it sucks major balls in that department .. also the contact list is weak as you can only store 1 number per name .. the menus need playing with to get used to and customise to personal preference but it all works well .. the camera isn't the greatest but sound quality during calls is good.
If you will be only using it as a phone and not wanting the frills of good memory capacity for multi-media files then the V3 isn't a bad choice .. but if you like to get a bit more out your phone than calls alone then look elsewhere .. |

Actually the RAZR can store many more numbers/email addresses per contact than the k700. It might look like you are storing 1 per contact but the default phonebook view is 'all contacts' so it lists everything separately. If you change this to 'primary contacts' and then press left/right on the hightlighed contact in the phonebook, it scrolls through the other numbers.
Im using a Moto v620- and this blows away any SE in terms of call and audio quality as well as build quality. Its also the most reliabile one ive every used (its never crashed or caused any problems). I recently sold a k750i as it was rapidly deteriorating and you could feel the huge gulf in build quality esp when the moto is twice as old and much more heavily used.
I reckon the Moto SLVR L7 is a good choice and is soon to come out. Its the candybar version of RAZR, its thinner and has mem card slot

I love the V3 looks but I could never live with a Motorola UI after sampling the E398...
The K700 may look bland these days but it has superb reception, awesome UI, heaps of customisation, and mine is totally reliable despite having bounced several times Stick with the K700!
@K700nut
If you truly are a K700 nut then why are you advocating a switch to the V3? And posting from a P910? Is a name change on the cards?

Bodum, where do you live and do you travel a lot?
Razr is a quad-band phone, so it can work also in GSM 850 (used in North and South America). |

i am from Malaysia, and no i don't travel much. but judging from you guy's response (thanks), i think it's a v3 for me. the k700? i could always use a second phone .
now, about the flip. it's been a while since the v3 has been released, so any complaints yet? anyone's flips getting worn out with time? developing play?
the v3 according to your comments is very nice for someone like me, just wish it had a better animated menu. cheers anyway.
