hello everyone..
I didnt kno where to post this problem as its a network related topic...
I had an o2 pay as you go SIM, bought in 1999.... about 2 years ago, i got a contract phone, and so i stopped using the pay as you go..
Having got an extra phone through my contract upgrade (had a razr motorola, upgraded to w800i), i put in the pay as you sim card into the razr just to use the razr... Now there's NO credit on it, and i can make calls to anywhere in the world...
went to o2 shop, and they said that it was an unknown cotract line, but it was an online account....
So i called the o2 online, and they said that it was registered with them as a contract line...
Having called many countries, and spent a lot of time on my 'free' line, im wondering is this actually free, as in can o2 have made a mistake somwhere ?
I cant send messages, just make calls to anywhere...
any advice is useful
Cheers
nYk

As long as there is nothing connecting your personal information to that Sim like address and name and what not then they cant bill you for it can they?
So as long as that remains true and they have no such details then enjoy....

I would guess your old mobile number got resold (back in 1999 if you didnt use the phone for a period of time it got canceled on P&G simcards)
Some poor bastard has had his contract phone for a couple of years and is now being billed for your calls would be my best guess....
How your ethics come into play are up to you. On the one hand he could be telling O2 that he didnt make the calls, and is not being billed, on the other he could be getting screwed for money by O2.
If it were me, Id want to make sure no one else was affected by this, but others may say "so what". |

uh, ermm!
If that were true the sim card would be innactive and he would not be able to use it....

Well, its a pickle certainly !
I mean if someone else is getting billed i feel sorry for them, becuase when i realised that it was working i called family in Lebanon, Kuwait, australia, America....
Ive slowed down now the use so i only call every 3 days or so...
But its weird because with o2 its not registered as a Pay as you go OR ar Pay monthly!!!!

As I said before...
If your number as a PAYG had been recicled then theywould have to deactivate your SIM and tranfer the number to a new SIM.. That would leave your SIM deactivated....
that means you would get a message on the fone sayin SIM card registration Failed.
U appear to have a Network access free SIM or words to that effect...
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE on this real world to have two SIMS sharing same number... unless theire a clone of each other... unless your 007 I dont think anyone is paying for your calls...
ENJOY it...
Keep that its worth a lot of cash... Dont abuse it though.... dont wanna flag up somewhere...
