W800i- Skin or Case? Any suggestions? |

Hello All
First of all, I want to say a big HELLO to you all...
I got my W800i last week, and I've been really careful not to scratch it at all... I've been looking for cases for it, and I've found that there are so many to choose from...
I stumbled onto this forum after googling for cases, and I thought that you guys might be able to give me some advice, so that I can get a better insight from your experiences...
My choices are:-
1. Leather case from Krussel (around £12 from ebay I think)
2. White Skin from Pivot
3. Glow in the dark skin
My Questions are:-
1. Has anyone had any experience for the Krussel case? The two pop buttons at the back looks to me that it will scratch the phone... Is that the case? Does it make the phone really bulky? Does the belt clip make it so that it is difficult to put into a pocket without it blulging out?
2. I realise that pivot has been giving out free cases on this forum, but I would like an unbiased opinion... Are they better than the cheaper OAD ones on eBay? Looking at the glow in the dark one, do you think that it would be as good as the pivot one?
Also, has anyone got the official SE pouches? Any comments on them? |

Hi! Chaffers,
Not sure whether you're based in the UK (or not) but today I'd got my case from Link @ £9.99 (for the K750i/D750 and fits snuggly over the W800i) which almost looks like those silicone ones but kinda crystal clear rather than creamy/white. It's an all in one case like an extra skin with no buttons, no belt clips etc at the back.
Not a big fan of those Krusell ones, it does have a button clip at the back plus a belt clip, making it bulky in the pocket!

i have a krussel case for my W800 and it's great, i had one before for the orange SPV c500 and i like it so i thought i'd get one for W800.
it's a bit snug out of the box but if you leave your phone in it for a couple of days it'll get used to the shape. |

I use a mixture of a Pivot case when I go out at night and a ICE-20 pouch for use while at work.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose |

i use both the ICE-25 and Pivot case together to gain the maximum protection. It works fine! |

Ordered a white pivot case, and a Exim screen protector...
I'm going to look into the SE pouches... Using both can be a good option |

Avoid Pivot if you can, poor quality and no customer support.I can highly recommend the Sony ICE 20/25,they really protect you phone well. |

Mate, Pivot skins are ok. Ive got one. Ok the finish isnt 100%, but its pretty close.
Looks good, protects the phone and doesnt break the bank. Cant ask for much more really ! - PS I got the exact same pakage as you.
I also have another skin from an ebay seller, the finish is about the same, but it appears to be more designed for a k750 (has a slit instead of a ring for the lens)
I hear their are "martin fields" skins, but I havent found these.
FWIW - I think you will get on just fine with the skin and protector you have bought.

I saw so many cheap awful ones on eBay but opted for a 'Metrix' one which was only about £5. Fits much better than the cheap leather ones and the belt clip and neck strap are both removable. The flap for the camera works quite well too.

Hi Yze,
Thanks for purchasing from us.
Would like to explain our procedure about the mailing.
We are sending the package by Registered Mail (by Hong Kong Post) which is more expensive than normal airmail but WITH tracking number.
We usually send out goods on the same day or day after (depends on what time you order from us), then we get the tracking number and email you guys.
From the point that we gave the package to post office, I will then trust the post office to dispatch it. Once post office dispatch the package, you will see the sent out date on the website (as you mentioned).
Thereafter, it may somehow arrive your local post office and the tracking number provided by HOng Kong Post CAN also BE tracked from the USPS website once the USA post office got the update.
Since I really cannot control your local post office, therefore, the only thing I can do is to check from my side but it takes time. I hope you understand my situation and I, of course, would like you all receving the package asap so that you can "feel" it
Note: Some of our buyer experience to receive our package in 4 days, but some in 10 days even 1 month, they are all sending out on the same day to the same country, and i feel like this can only be controlled by your local post office.. (and need some luck too)
Please feel free to email me for any queries, and will do better to serve you all
Cheers,
Kat |
