I've just sold my k750i on ebay! |

I managed to sell my 5 month old k750i for £200 on ebay. After my t68i and t610, I assumed that I would like the k750i- but for quite a few reasons, it didnt particularly do it for me. I've now gone back to my motorola v620. In relation to my v620- these are the things i miss and some things that prompted me to sell:
What i miss:
- the camera
- organised file management
- the media player
- the memory (i had a 512mb card in here- overall more than 100 times the memory of my v620!)
What i didnt like (these are in comparison to my v620):
- the freezing (and the fact that you have to get the battery out to restart unlike t610 and t68i)
- the audio / voice clarity
- the speakersphone
- the build quality. the plastics get marked too easily and the annoying squeaks and creaks when texting esp battery cover
- the mp3s as ringtones
- the vibrate alert is really weak
- the calendar and limited alarm options
- the screen
- shortcuts arent really that customisable and these disappear.
- the menu ( i know its faster than previous SEs but with the combination of the shortcuts not being that short and the sliding animated menus, it takes a while getting to get going- i means its all very pretty and nice but i got a little sick of it after a while)
Overall its not a bad phone, its just that my motorola just does the basics very very well. The motorola however doesnt do the fancy camera stuff and media stuff as well. If you minus the camera and media player- i would say that it doesnt perform very well in terms of basic features that mobiles would have been judged on a few years ago. |

while i dont agree with everything youve posted , one comment does ring true and always has done with se, getting the basics right.
this is something ive always thought they have slipped up with.
to me the simple things like call reception and quality decent sms speed etc should be taken for granted with ALL manufactors.
sadly i often feel se miss out on these and get the other part right but in day to day use i aint taking pics every 5 secs but i am making calls sending text so i do demand these are right.
theyve got better at these but there still not there. |

I agree with you, camera aint all that. The rest are more important, imho. As for the squeaking sounds, some ppl here actually deny that some SE models emit strange sounds from the body panels....

Ok , i think now that you can finaly get one V600i , and enjoy 3G ( Speed and all the extras that follows one speedy 3G phone ).
Moving forward is always better than steping back. |

I got 200 quid for it- included a 512mb stick. very good price considering the phone itself is 5 months old. Sorry to see it go though as the camera was very cool. I reckon my model could have come from an odd batch or something. Next time I'll buy it from a shop and not some dodgy internet company that has almost non existent customer support so I'd be able to change it. I think some of the problems e.g. creaking/squeaking is a bit of luck really as some people had it bad including me and some people have had no probs.
This hasnt put me off SE though. Even though I'm using a moto (this is the one that survived a trip down one of the escalators on the tube- relatively unscathed), I still browse through these forums I'll definitely consider getting an SE in the future as well.
Maybe i'll invest the dosh in the new SE thats just come out. i used my mates d600 today. Nice phone- it brought back some memories of my crumbling retired t68m with its rubber back |

Damn.. I'd love to feel that Motorola vibrate, I think my K750i vibrates pretty strong. |

I've just sold my 2-month old W800 as well. I, more or less, agree on the shortcomings that you have pointed out. I was particularly disappointed with the creacky build, the menu lag, and the shrilly, low-volume loudspeaker. Otherwise, the camera was great by mobile standards and the battery life was excellent!
I also agree that the materials thar Motorola uses on their V series are of much higher quality, particularly on the V635. You can feel this the moment you hold one on your hand.
As for me, I bought a just-released series-60 N70. I wanted a Symbian phone after one year of living without one. The 2 Megapixel N70 combined with a 512MB memory card is excellent and it beats the W800 in every term except for battery life. In rare instances I might miss the smaller size of the W800 as well!
