Hi,
I'm having some problems installing my W800i as a dialup modem and as a remote control (both over bluetooth) on Windows XP machine.
Bluetooth dongle is Yakumo Blueport USB, Windows XP has SP2 and all the other updates installed and using (Microsoft's) native Bluetooth drivers.
I can successfully pair the phone with PC (and also transfer files between the devices and use SE File Manager), but for some reason, after adding new bluetooth device to Windows XP the HID device and the bluetooth modem won't get recognized (installed).
After pairing the phone won't even ask me if I'd like to allow remote controlling of the newly added device nor ask if I'd like to allow the newly added device to use phone as a modem...
Before I ran into this problem I could successfully configure the same phone with the same BT dongle on my laptop (also Win XP), and all the features work flawlessly (HID, DUN, file transfer etc).
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.
regards.,
.k
UPDATE: The problem seems to be windows related: tried another dongle with XP drivers - same problem... will try re-installing SP2 for XP
ANOTHER UPDATE: Got it working at last!
Here's the fix:
Open up Services (Start->Run->services.msc)
Open up the "Bluetooth Support Service" (Right Click->Properties)
In the "Log On" Tab change logon to "Local System account" (was "NT AUTHORITY\LocalService" before)
Leave the checkbox unchecked (Allow to interact...)
Click OK
Restart the service (or computer)
