I just got my W800i phone and LOVE it.. anyways im good with computers just new to the whole cell phone thing.. I have done 6+ hours of searching and still have some questions that people can answer in a second.. so PLEASE HELP!

1) I have the europe charger so I cant use it.. So right now im charging via USB.. Will it hurt the phone in the long run? B/c its different volts then what it is sposed to be?

2)I was reading all about firmware.. I upgraded mine from SEUS to (AR1N035)... I scrolled down and it says Customization EUROPE_2.. isent it sposed to be AMERICAN_2? its W800i.. Any clue? Does it hurt anything? Worse reception? Also... what else firmware is out there.. I been reading about divinici but it seems like that was mainly used before SEUS came out with AR1N035.. Advantages of the divinici one?

3) Connect to internet VIA USB.. need instructions.. tried all night and got nothing.. got computer to connect to internet via phone.. but not the other way around..

4)Just got my desktop charger + battery in.. it has 0 life so it wont charge it via usb.. Any clue to get a charge on it? Use my charged battery? (i did order an american charger tho.. be a couple of weeks before it comes in..)

5)Anyone know any other cool mods for it besides that 3.5mm jack?

1) Nope, the output of the charger is 4.9V, 450mA - which is as near as damnit to USB spec.

2) Customization isn't the important part, it just governs which languages you have available and a few other things - nothing to be worried about.

3) Not gonna happen.

4) Spare battery? Even if it's not got enough of a charge to start the phone, it should charge from USB.

5) Erm...

Only charging to 85-90% is common. I've never charged mine with the mains adaptor.

If the phone's turned off, pluggin in the USB cable should cause it to turn on and start charging.

Haven't the foggiest Worst case scenario, it's dead and you have to send it back for a replacement.

i havent exactly experienced it with a phone but in my palm zire you cannot charge via usb if the battery is drained, i've read it somewhere that its common for usb charge not to work if the device is drained, so maybe that's the case with your batt...

The USB charger is rather weak so if the battery is completely empty it might not charge.
For the mains charger you should be able to get an adapter from your local electrical shop that lets you plug the european connector into an american socket.

@Yellow-Snow

I cant tell the reason that battery is dead from the picture is because there a serial number missing of the bottom left right hanside corner...

Seriously....

Your europe charger should work fine anywhere...

On the input on the back (were the pins are (things you plug into socket on wall)) you have two voltages for input... that means that the voltages it accepts are from 100-240v AC Europe ranges from 210v up to 240v AC and american I believe is 110V AC... Output is same regardless.....

That means all you need is an adaptor maybe to enable you to plug into the socket were you are.... Buy in any electrical shop... cheap too Known as a travel adaptor.... very technical...

thats the first....

Secondly if you bought the phone i.e. in europe and are i.e. in china updating it, it's not gonna change to chinese all over the sudden...

Thirdly you cant be serious about wanting to use the internet connection on your pc in your phone... but you are serious.... Impossible... w800i doesnt support this....

Fourthly (can I say that?) Your empty battery should be in the phone for at least 4 hours and please just get an adaptor for your europe charger.... Use your brains....

The output on the charger is not dependant on input current.... so the only way you gonna kill it is by having it connected to a bolt of lighning....

Sorry guys about this long'an but these advanced questions are for someone that obvioulsy used to be indecisive now he's not so sure...

Man if you been handling computers for a long time must be just word and paint maybe the odd calculator....
