Buddies... I have just got my z800i phone this week. It is an imported set from an unknown location and I believe the firmware has been flashed and now it is running on R1Y005_HONGKONG. After spending a day or two with it, I immediately discover an annoying problem - The ringtone volume isn't in accordance with the volume defined in the profile setting. Just perform the few steps as the following to reproduce the problem:-

1) Go to the 'Select Profile' menu and set profile to Normal
2) Go to 'Ringtone' under the 'Edit Profile' menu and set the ringtone to the default 'Sony Ericsson', or any of your own ringtone in case you have wiped off the original one.
3) Go to 'Ringtone volume' under the 'Edit Profile' menu and the default volume should be 5 (or a value you have overriden it). To try out the volume level, simply press the left (now down to 4) and followed by the right (now back to 5) to force the phone to play your selected ringtone as in step 2 at the volume level you have just defined (volume 5). Ok, this is really loud enough for me.
4) Accept the setting. Close your flip. Now, try to make a call to your z800i with another cellphone, or your housephone.
5) The phone rings, but it rings at a volume level way much lower than the predefined 5 (I guess it purrs at an barely audible level of 3.5 only) !!!

Has anyone come across the same problem as I have described above? It seems very obvious this has got to be a bug in the firmware rather than the hardware (if it's a hardware's, then it either doesn't ring or it purrs at a barely audible level at both step 2 and 5). I rather hope this has something to do with the firmware else I have got to send it back to the service centre for the hardware fix

Also, if this is a firmware issue and it's reproducible in one or more z800i phones, then v800/v802 phones running on the same firmware should notice this as well.

Hope you can help, suggestions are very much appreciated.

I agree this is a small issue to be ignored but I am expecting a more reasonable level of quality assurance work has been carried out throughout the development cycle of the phone. I have been told numerous times QC on SE phone is not on par as its competitor and they still continue selling their phone with buggy software and let us alone to endure all the suffering

I think we could expect fewer problems with V3 relatively. I also own a Moto V600i and it's a very reliable phone
