As topic... I got a mem. reader since memory stick bug on R1N035 and I was wondering if it would break / wear out after opening / closing many times...
Anyone uses a card reader and can confirm me?
Thanks!

Well if your carefull it should last a long time but if your an animal grabbing it then no...
Obviously wear and tear will get to anything but with a 1GB card or a 2GB (like I do) then why open it at all.....

leviath is right...sooner or later it will, unless you treat it properly...the cover for my charger port thingy on my k700 came off...as well as the quickshare sticker...and the online sticker

I suppose with repeated opening it'll start to look like a dog-chew. Seems to be made of the same rubber as the great k700 port cover. Hmmm.

Well my previous s700 had worn out at its memory stick cover and baterry cover. After 6 months of use both are unable to properly closed because somehow it 'grew' by length. The mem cover was better though. I had to finally cut the battery cover because it start to annoying for daily use and there was a 'tail' attached to the phone. :-)

Ehh? that's more reason to use a card reader! I don't fancy spending over 2 hours waiting for 2Gb of music to transfer throught he phone... |

I just add songs now and then you fool... not a whole 2GB in one go....

@Sapibobo
The cover in the bottom was a nuissance when having to charge the phone. Once it wore on mine , I removed it.
The Memory cover is a necesity. I hardly ever need to remove the memory card. However it's nice to have it protected from dust, ect.....

some people simply don't have or can't afford card readers, like me. |

My K750i's Duo cover is rather warped now, not because i remove the stick often but simply because i find it so hard to open sometimes ive used a pencil or screwdriver to get the rubber out. So much force, it seems to have stretched the rubber a little.
At least the P990i will have a plastic Duo stick cover.

You may not have a card reader, but they're not expensive. They can be picked up for £10-20 from just about anywhere!

Well.... at a closer look it seems quite sturdy, almost like plastic, so I don't think that it will wear out; as long as I don't open it with a screwdriver or something...

Screwdriver....?
just having such a thought for a delicate piece of equipment...
All it needs is a gentle flick on the ridge and it pops out, same way back in and it stays there...
No need for extreme measures...
