According to engadget the date 17th Oct is confirmed.

The new Walkman phone is the W550i.... SE has them in stock.... all it is is a smaller version of the S700 with a few new buttons ABOVE the screen, changeable front and back covers..... camera is STILL 1.3mp!!!..... obvious Sony Walkman function (same as W800i)..... Succeedor to S700 aka Sakura ( spyshots seen on http://www.clubsonyericsson.com/en/index.php ) - not likely to be due out for a while, my guess is 1Q 2006..... (is abit big tho!) |

I thought that phone had already been announced 
Sakura is the one everyone is waiting for and will be on the shelves before christmas as a Walkman branded phone.
I don't wan't the walkman branded ....
I want S800i - an S700i replacement with better imaging features which will hopefully make an appearance Q2.
