Hi everyone,

I'm only new to this and after looking around these forums i'm more confused than before.

I'm trying to update my w800 with the new fireware, i'm using the SE update site and everything goes fine until the press 'c' button and plug in the USB cable.

At this point the phone turns back on and the update doesn't start.

Firstly, is the phone meant to turn on? And secondly what am i doing wrong?

I've tried updating the USB drivers and reinstalling all the SE software.

Thanks
Peter

I've answered this on half a dozen times this month already. you almost certainly have not installed the SEUS update USB driver, which you can find on the SE update site

edit: soory I can't give a link right now as I'm on html light

Are you keeping the C key held down long enough? .. This action is to STOP the phone from turning itself back on automatically when the USB is inserted. Hold it down for about 2 seconds prior to inserting the USB and keep it held until the progress bar reaches about 2%.
