I had the same problem with my T65 while downloading logos from esato. I couldn't select a logo when browsing the logos in 'category view' (or so). When the phone regonizes a bitmap on a wap-Page as 'downloadable' a black border surrounds the bitmap while it's selected, showing that the bitmap is a link. Then and only then pressing the yes-Key open the Download-Menu. So if you don't have that border around an image - no chance.
For me it worked not to browse the logos in category view, but to use the 'search for a logo' function. Just enter a keyword about what kind of logo you want and you get a list of matching logos. In THAT list, however, it did work to select a logo and download it as a background or custom startup-animation. Perhaps this works for you, too.
By the way: I had similar problems downloading my own logos that I had uploaded to the 'private logos' section: I have uploaded about 10 Logos, 8 of them could be downloaded without any problems, but with 2 I had the same problem as mentioned above. Strange...
Perhaps the dynamically generated esato wap-Pages are not 100% correct wml sometimes?!
Deleting the 2 logos and uploading them again finally solved the problem with my own logos.
