I cant install SEUS? |

Hello all,
I know somebody is going to say use search and i have!! but i cant find the answers i need!!
Right, first of all downloaded the USB driver update (im asuming this is the update for the cable that came with the phone?) Anyway, i downloaded the update, went to device manager and tried to update the drivers but it says it cant find them??
So then i tried to install the sony ericsson update service...i downloaded it, installed it, it completed....then did nothing!! i cant find it installed on the computer, its dumped a whole bunch of files in program files but no program???
Next i updated java...still it doesnt work. Ive now installed the CD that came with the phone and nothing still!!!
Help...what am i doing wrong??? |

You need two USB drivers. See the K750 W800 firmware overview front page. |

you need two only if you have two of them phones...
the next step for you is to go to the SEUS site and see if it updates your phone..
it should pop up if everything goes smoothly

Nope its not having any of it...i go back to the SEUS site and it gets me to download the client again even though its supposed to be installed on the machine already!!! |

I would suggest uninstalling the software currently present on the machine and then carefully following all steps in the first post of the K750/W800 Firmware Overview thread. |

Had a very similar problem with seus a few weeks ago, trying to update firmware on my newly aquired p900. My home pc is running win xp pro with service pack 2. Using the seus service led me into a loop of constantly having to download and install the update client even tho it appreared in windows add/remove progs list???, emailed and rang SE tech supp and was sent a few mails with various solutions.....none of which worked ie update java, remove all SE content from pc etc and start over, funny thing was the update service would not remove it just sat there for ages doing nothing. I rang SE again, final email off them saying its probably a problem with my OS???????
Now i am not entirely sure if this is a working solution but it worked for me, Used my eldests laptop, win xp pro but with service pack 1 only, updates java and done the updates to internet explorer (it was ver 5.5?), insatalled the SE pc suite (which worked with phone ok, like my home pc) and ran the seus...lo and behold it worked!!!!!! Like i said i not entirely sure if the prob lies with any of the service packs, just possible its more to do with the updates to IE.
One more thing, if you do decide to clean off all things SE make sure you run some 3rd party cleaning prog like Norton system works to clean out your registery too |

Oh right so it might be that it is SP2 on XP pro?? Hmm may have to give that a go.
Where would i get the 3rd party software from and is it easy to work??
Also, im still struggling to get to grips with what cable i need...i keep reading conflicting stories!! One place says you can use the USB cable that came with the phone if you update the drivers (which doesnt work!! unless im downloading the wrong drivers??), another place says you cant use that USB cable at all, another place says it can be used for de-branding but not unlocking....does anybody have the definitive answer?? |

Hi benson, before we go down the drivers etc route....can you connect phone to your pc and syncronise it ok??? using the SE pc suite. Mine did this ok even b4 my problems started, i just used the usb cable and the dss-25 cradle that came with the phone, works ok on both pc and laptop.
