my contract is coming to an end, so i'm looking to get another phone in the following month.

I know there a lot of phones that are "coming soon"
nokia n90/n91 etc.
But what is there from SE?
im not really fond of the k750/w800, but i dont mind waiting for a few months, for a decent phone, but i want to know im waiting for something decent...

Any other phone recommendations?
the only real requirement i have is that i need a 3.5mm jack, or even an adaptor i can stick in...

doesnt seem like i will be replacing my trusty v800 any time soon....

There is also the Sakura/W850/W900. Which is surely to be announced at some point, which looks like an extremely capable 3G phone?

the sony ericsson p series, out of the question (personal preferance in taste)

the Sakura however, did look pretty good, looks like an new improved s700 to be honest.

w900, i thought that was a rumour? well a lot can happen in the mobile world in a month, i just hope they get these phones in stock before christmas!

Highly unlikely unless you're prepared for some unstable firmware.

What about a DIRECT Z800 replacement (eg. like the Z800 was the DIRECT replacement of the Z1010); a new WCDMA (3G/UMTS) clamshell/flip-phone?

The P990 and W900 ARE new WCDMA (3G/UMTS) phones from Sony Ericsson, but neither is directly the upgrade to the Z800, but rather a new "series" of WCDMA (3G/UMTS) phones...

I am FINALLY about to upgrade my Z1010 to the Z800i in less than two weeks (yes, I'm counting!), so it works for me if they don't release a Z800 upgrade for quite some time...

Besides, the longer we wait for a direct upgrade, the more advanced it is likely to be!

The V800/Z800 are still VERY "new" here in Australia, especially the V800.

As for the camera, these days, 1.3MP is "standard", with anything higher (such as the 2MP on the W800) considered "high-end"...
