Anyone heard of this company/SMS? |

Hello all!
I got an SMS from this number:
07099 832 436
saying they had tried to deliver something and to phone them re-arrange it, quoting a reference (seemed to be a consignment) number. The SMS didn't contain any company name. Seemed a bit suspicious.
I wasn't expecting anything but phoned anyway. After about 7 minutes of holding on for couriers and "customer service agents" (all automated) it asked me to enter the ref number then confirm my contact details. Seemed a bit strange, I've dealt with DHL, TNT, Interlink, Parcelforce etc and all their systems aren't like this, so it seemed suspicious, so I hung up.
It seems weird they use a seemingly mobile number to handle customer service and they only mentioned the company name once maybe twice, which was just Interexpress. A courier service called Interexpress exists in Sweden but I'm not sure if they reach over here to the UK.
Anybody have any ideas on this? |

Sounds like it might be some form of phishing scam to me, If you'd have hung on long enough they might have asked you for credit card details etc. in order to 'prove your identity'.
Or maybe the number that you dialed gets re-directed to a premium rate number and they sting you that way?

Can a mobile number be re-directed to a premium rate and I get charged for it?
Should I complain to o2 about it, or do I just have to pay and live with it?! |

This kind of stuff has started in india too. They call it sim copying. Someone will electronically 'copy' your phone sim. Then they start making calls using the sim and all the calls & sms are charged on your account. Best you can do is complain to the police and to your service provider.
