Sounds like either a firmware problem or a charging circuit problem. You could try getting the firmware updated, or the easiest solution is to buy a desktop charger.
Simply charge one battery up in the desktop charger whilst using the other, and when one goes flat simply swap the batteries around. You can get desktop chargers off Ebay for just a few pounds
