P910;Succesfully sent an email with built in email client. |

Hi guys,
I just wanted to let you guys know that i have been able to SEND an email from the built in email client. Unfortunately i have not been able to receive any emails yet.
Here are the setting i have inputted so far:
Basic:
acct name
ur name
email address
conncetion type: pop3
internet acct: preferred
inbox:
username: email address
password: password
incoming server address: pop.gmail.com
oubox:
smtp.gmail.com
check "use smtpauthentication"
check "use inbox login details"
advanced:
secure connection
outgoing mail port:25
check use mime coding
*incoming mail port:110
*Secure pass authentication
Everything above (not the * ones) seem to work fine for outgoing mail; but the incoming mail port one seem to be wrong; i have tried a coupel of port numbers, but none seem to work. Maybe soemone else can figure out whcih port to use.
NOTE: when sending an email, you will see a 100% completion, then a window will come up in your phone saying that there was a problem sending the message. Eventhough it says there was a problem, the email still goes out.
Now, let's see if we can get the built in email client get emails too.

incoming port is 995, encryption ssl.
Works fine on my K750. Not sure if you can select ssl for incoming on the K700. Looks like you can from your settings though.
However gmail is non-standard - if you create a yahoo pop account that should definitely work on the K700.

sorry just noticed that. Don't get shirty I'm only trying to help. Since it's a P910 then use port 995 with ssl and it will work.
Besides a second ago your avatar was a K700. So f**ked if I know what's going on there....

Sorry buddy just a misunderstanding. (I didn't say shitty I said "shirty" which isn't anywhere near as harsh in meaning. In anycase, I'm sorry I jumped to that conclusion). I saw a K700 so "K700" was in my head. In terms of your post, the answer was perfectly correct for K700 as it was for P910.
Try 995 and I'm sure it will work.
Standard email clients use port 110 and don't use ssl, and don't require sending authentication at all.
gmail is quite different.

unfortunately port 995 is not working. it was said a while ago, that the p910's built in email client was not working with GMAIL.
yesterday when i was playing around i was able to send out an email from my device, while i still could not receive any email in the p910...
who knows maybe someone has a fix for the incoming port.

hmm... strange. I wonder if it implements ssl correctly?
You might have to stick with the third party email client. This forum thread has some interesting info about it:

The best suggestion I can see there is use a standard third party pop email account on the phone (hotpop or yahoo for example), and have gmail forward email to that account.
