Probably a completely pointless question but...
I have a Sony Ericsson k750i and my battery indicator in the top right is in little grey blocks, my friend who has the same phone has his battery indicator as a continuous green block.
I am on Vodafone, he is on Orange. Is there any way to change this, or is this controlled by the network? |

@cdw - Welcome aboard mate ! I am certain that it's not network dependent Most probably it's the - LCD Aside from the battery indicator, is there anything else acting/showing strange icons in your fone compared to that of your friend's?

no, no strange icons, I'm just unsure whether its a firmware thing, I know that some networks install alternative icons and I thought the battery icon might be one they change. |

Given a choice here, if the fone is still under warranty, might as well have it replaced than going on an upgrade pal. Good luck !

sorry JN, I think you've got the wrong end of the stick... I have no problems with my phone, my friend has no problems, there is no degradation in screen quality, I am not unhappy with the display, neither is my friend. This is just an inquiry as I couldn't find an answer on the web. I'm pretty sure its dependant on either firmware or network - I was just wondering if it could be adjusted using the phone settings.
Thanks for your interest though |

@cdw - As far as what I know about battery indicators mate, it only appears in Green/Yellow/Red hues and NOT in GREY shade dude. If you have no problem with that then I guess we have NO problem here at all. Honestly, I just find that GREY BLOCKS in the battery indicator quite - extraordinary, in my K750i, I only manage to see those GREY BLOCKS when I am adjusting the - VOLUME . . . Good Luck !

JN, I think it may be down to Vodafone branding

Before I upgraded my vodafone k750i to the newest firmware, using DaVinci, my battery indicator had little black/grey blocks. After the update, it has the continuous green - I figure that the DaVinci update must have stripped away some of the Vodafone branding. |

dirbobesh, thanks for that, that pretty much confirms my suspicions, my friend will be disappointed, as he prefers my grey/black battery indicator over the standard SE battery icon that hes got on orange. I guess this post shows - that we (my friend and I) have too much time on our hands discussing trivial matters like this. Looks like vodafone got one thing right at last - a nice battery icon, well done vodafone! |

Hold on, I've got a Vodafone UK K750i and my battery bar is green when full, changing to orange then red as it runs out.
No grey/black blocks for me.
I'm running R1L firmware. |

Voda's k700 batt icon was the grey blocks as opposed to the green/red on other non and branded phones. If you like it then good on ya!
