K750 not connected to Toshiba laptop? |

Hello.
I've just bought a shiny new Toshiba Satelite L10 laptop. I installed the PC Suite CD & plugged my phone into 1 of the usb ports.
Nothing.
Phone not connected.
I've still got the software installed on the PC & the phone is recognised there so it isn't the phone or cable.
I've connected my Sony Hard-drive MP3 player to the usb ports & it works, so it isn't those.
I don't have a Bluetooth dongle & I don't think the laptop has ir, so I'm just using the supplied usb cable.
Any help will be most appreciated

Don't know if this might help:
When you connect the phone to the USB port, do you get a "New hardware detected" indication? If it does, you haven't installed the K750i drivers yet (which is different from the File Manager software).
Your Sony MP3 player must be a plug-and-play device which doesnot require manual installation of drivers.
Also, which OS do you use??
