@alanranch - Have it replaced if still covered by the warranty. If not, an upgrade is inevitable I guess mate. Though just don't know if Semicon-SM Southmall already has the latest firmware. 02(8066922). Good Luck ! [addsig]

What do they do with an upgrade? And oh when i brought my phone to semicon they told me that if ever the phone won't make the upgrade there is a chance that i can't use my phone. Anyways my phone is W800. After changing my sim card it won't turn on. You have any idea? I bought mine at Games and Gadgets SM manila.... They only offer 1 week warranty. I've been using my phone for a month or so...

@dja - Is your fone covered by the 1 year FREE Service warranty? The 7 days warranty you mentioned I guess applies to the - replacing of the handset if major problems occured w/in the period . . . Upgrading of the firmware improves 'some' flaws (like removal of the bugs) installed in the fone when bought. Yeah, at Semicon, they already have this 'waiver' (running for more than a year now . . .) that reminds you that the company is not held responsible for whatever might transpire during the repair (process). Now, I know why some folks buy their handset at Semicon/Local network shops (despite it's hefty price compared to other shops) in order to avail of the 1 year FREE service warranty which other small shops don't offer. I never 'upgrade' the firmware of my fones, past and present, 'will act only if 'major' malfunctions occurs. Good Luck ! [addsig]

okay. my phone is still in SE glorietta. Don't know what's the progress now. But i'm hoping they can fix it. The last time i checked on it they said they are having a hard time customizing it. Would it be possible that semicon have the software for the W800? What do you think? or should i just wait. it's been two weeks now..
