Yup, you heard right. After many months -7 in total - and many situations of daily use of my Nokia 6620; I'm seriously and heavily considering the return to SE. I'm considering the K750i.
My second cellphone was the T18z, which offered me simple features. I then came to this site to learn more about the phone I had, and quickly discovered that the T36 may launch - back in 2000. Then it was cancelled and I just had to get the Ericsson T39m. I ended up owning 2. 1 dropped and got destroyed and within 1 week I got its replacement. This was the ONLY gadget that I would consider starving over 10hrs of a horrible job & shifts for a week. That T39m was well worth it!!
The features, the form factor, and its STYLE. If any of you SE fans were long time fans of Ericsson's; you'll know how much I really enjoyed this phone. Incredible amount of daily usuage and data. Battery was excellent even by todays standards; standby & continuous talk time. The only thing, and I truely mean the ONLY thing that bugged me about that phone is that my current banks wap site uses frames - of which the T39m didnt support (WAP 1.2).
After many intelligent, challenging, and insightful arguements of Nokia S60 & K750i with Max_Wedge, and others well here I am. I'm a little bugged that I bought 3 applications that cannot be used on the SE but oh well.
K750i masters; I have important questions that I desperately need your assistance on.
1) HPM-70, does the music through these headphones really pound out the music? (similar to the MiniDisc walkmans?) Whom truely uses it daily as a music player without any complaints or fuss about the quality of the music being played or the speed of accessing the music application??
2) Are any features that the T39m had (which the K700i lacked) returned? Like pressing the up button to get status of the phone - number, date, time, battery strength for talk & standby states?
3) Can I use an animated GIF for my screensaver or the home screen on the K750i? (btw what is the screen size/resolution?)
4) If I'm reviewing a video (what are supported formats other than 3gp?) how fast will/should the phone respond into going into music mode if I press the play button.
5) Themes, are themes available now more sleek and customize font size supported; specifically for soft key text?
6) Is the larger the MS Duo Pro cards, slower in accessing files (ebooks, notes, etc)?
7) Can I store MMS/SMS on the Duo - like I can on my Nokia 6620? Also can I change the default memory of SMS/MMS/Photos/Recorded Videos onto the Duo; by default?
What is the maximum bitrate in MP3 or AAC for audio that the K750i will support?
9) Is the built in app - or another stable java app - capable of retrieving html email? Some of the html format emails I get dont render any text info of the email if html cannot be rendered.
10) Is there a Java app that'll allow me to send firmware photo/music/game files via BT if their locked to the phone? I just want to be able to send copies of these files, in case 1 of the K750s I'm buying doesnt have them to the other for my wife.
Lastly, 9) When I buy one - end of this month - should I expect the phone to be in the both and the phone itself sealed like the battery? I'm buying it NEW.
Many thanks to all those whom informed me of what I'm missing in the K750i. Dont get me wrong, S60 is a great platform, but if you dont have unlimited data most of its functionality is useless. Also I cant stand the stress of trying to get some N-Gage games to work with wrong colors and others just not working. Nokia mentioned this support for all newer S60 phones months ago, but nothing has beared fruit, even though they can declare new S60 standards for music & such.
Remember this isnt to be a war on K750i vs S60 phones. Theres already threads on that. This is about me getting more informed because I wish to return to the beauty and simple ease of use of using an Ericsson. I'll loathe not having EDGE access, but I'm sure another SE phone with the styling & features and expandability of the K750i will debut soon enough. |

2) instead of standby and talktime the battery status is shown in % . a bit stupid solution, cos i see that result at the indicator anyway... ( happy u mentioned ///, well, they managed it already years ago, seems se didnt grew up yet for such "big challenge"... )

Thanks guys much appreciated for the input.
I know I should check out the FAQ's but true user input over the time period of ownage since the K750i was releaseed is much better. The Sakura looks sweet as well but a slider isnt just my taste. |
