Just ran the SEUS, and it said that my operator (vodafone) won't let me update the firmware.

Any other vodafone users getting this?

I'm sure they are not picking on you specifically

Non availability of branded firmware on the update service is quite common

Mate Vodafone users and O2 users are on the same boat....
Branded/locked handsets are from both companys unable to use the update....

Im O2...

Wait a couple more weeks... If you dont wanna wait a SE Service center will upgrade it for you...

send SE a e-mail and ask for details on addresses and what not... K? [addsig]

Lol.

By the way, this is an unlocked phone, I actually got it with an O2 sim card which I gave to my sister. I just thought that it'd be fine to upgrade, but clearly not...

Thanks for the advice.

I'm in no real hurry I guess, it'd be great to get the firmware, but ah well.

Thanks to both of you.

Branded as in, sporting the logo on the actual phone?

Mine doesn't. It's not locked, nor branded, nothing, zilch.

Also,

masseur, on the link you posted you said the following:

"Next, I go through the menu to enter date and time only to find the default orange theme does not allow the cursor to be seen so you only know where it is by changing a digit."

Someone has probably already said, but it does actually show the cursor. It's just so faint. You can notice that the current digit is just a little sharper, a little bolder than the others.

But even so, that's not enough. I too thought it was a theme problem.

I think it's still on topic.

Well, I don't get any of that.

So, you too have an unbranded phone? And you managed to update?

What network are you on?
