The post count goes up everytime you post, but if some of your posts are in Garbage or Mobile Phone Free Zone, they won't count, so your total will be 'readjusted' later.

This has been mentioned before.

Yeah. Posts made in the garbage threads, mobile phone free zone and regional forums are not added in to your final tally of posts. Posts get reset at about 3:00 am gmt everyday. Although i've known this for quite long now, i'm still dying to know why this is so? Aren't posts made in these forums posts?

I think he was referring to jenbones. By his name it says '1000+ posts'

Posts made in certain foums used to count but we were "forced" to alter this some time ago (a couple of years ago I think).
Some members posted only in the Garbage forum and dropped a line or two in one of the other forums every now and then. At that time there was no limitation to what the counter said in the profiles eigther. New members got confused when someone with 2500 posts replied to a question obviously didn't have a clue. High post count indicated knowledge in their view.
So, the decission was made to put all that to an end when a competition between a few members started; "How high can we get our post count to go?"-kind of competition.
Now it works like this: posts to regional forums, garbage, mobile phone free zone, archive and moderator forums does not count. The couter is reset at midnight Norwegian time every day. The counter in your profile will not show more than 500 posts to avoid competitions like mentioned above.

Thanks for clearing that up!

I don't get why regional forums are not considered 'valid'
Some people only post there due to language limitations.
Posts in Regional forums SHOULD count towards the total.

@victor, the posts in regional are more of general talk than a valid one, i agree there are valid posts, their percentage is too low. Moreover, ppl with language limitations will find answers to their queries, but how much of a help can they do on the main forums, for the same reasons?
