recently, I briefly changed the sim card to my w800i to make a call with my other sim card. it worked just fine but when I switched it back to the previous sim card all it would do was turn on then turn off. Since then I had the battery checked. it all turned out fine. The service center says that it is a case of corrupt software. What I'd like to know is that what that means and if possible can I get software to fix it myself?

If your phone is under warranty,(which i presume, is) you should try updating the firmware at the service centre itself.

You can also update the firmware yourselve using SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service)

There are a quite a lot of threads on how to update firmware yourselves, but it might be a bit technical for a new person..so i'd rather suggest you get the update job done at the Service center..

Oh okay... The thing is, the place where i bought my phone, they only give one week warranty... Anyways i already brought my phone to SE service center. What bother's me is that there's this guy at the service center who has a K750. The customer service personnel told him that his phone didn't make the upgrade. she was saying that it is more of a board problem. The problem with his phone was a blinking lcd. Like when you turn the phone on the logo will appear then it will blink or sumthing like that. so what can you do if it is a board problem?

what is a firmware problem. Anyways i called SE today. They told me that they are still fixing it up. They are customizing it. It is still a software problem according to her. I also called the place where i bought the phone and they told me that the phone was from China. Is it possible that during the customization the phone will have a board problem or anything. Sorry im not good at this kind of stuffs. You see i'm getting anxious because it's been a week now and i haven't gotten my phone yet..
