Clearly the P800 will play MP3's. See

So what possible reason would Sony have for not mentioning a word about it in any of there P800 information? Perhaps they don’t like MP3’s!

There, that's atleast one word about it.  There is also a whole SE press release talking only about the added MP3 player and MS Duo slot to the P800.
