Don't compare an 8800 to a k750i/w800i... they set out to achieve different things.

They're TOTALLY different. The 8800 is a phone to impress people with (assuming you hang out with people who will be impressed by it). Just like the V3, the new Bang & Olufsen phone and so on.
The camera is awful. I am sure it's an ordinary VGA camera that is then interpolated in software to 800x600 (SVGA) as I've not seen pictures that bad for a LONG time!
Nevertheless, it's got a great screen and oozes style. Shame it's so bloody hard to use because of the tiny keys!
