K750i - Joystick has a mind of its own! |

Hi all,
I have a 3 month old K750i which has developed a joystick problem.
When you push up left or right it seems ok but when you push down or in to select the cursor goes where it wants.
Has anybody else experienced this & do they have a solution before it goes back to the shop?
Any suggestions would be most appreciated. |

Take it back to the shop it was purchased in as its definitely covered under warranty, but because its outside the first 30 days it will have to be sent away for repair, so you could be without it for a week or two

Sometime when I'm in the menu or when I type a SMS 'down' doesn't respond too.. this problem appears about 2 months after the purchase.
As it's under warranty for 1years, I will keep the problem a try to pass it under guaranty 1 months before the end, maybe I will have a new one.. |

. . . 3rd month I'm only on my 2nd month now, better see what happens. When a friend of mine encountered a similar problem with his Nokia 6230 last year, he brought it to the authorized service center, and all it took was a siimple - cleaning on the keypad and the fone worked just fine again. Of course, is different from - Nokia

on my k600 it behaves also sometimes really weird, especially when i push it down, it takes a second longer time that sg happening, no such a bug at the other directions. really donnow if its fw bug or bad connections.

@BobaFett
Sorry mate I just couldnt resist....
But seriously, your right in your conclusion that SE service center should look at it...
Other reports have pointed at a possible f/w issue that singles out a Joystick or various that may be working with intermitent faults...

okay here's a possible temporary solution. go into ur service menu and test the keyboard. if it goes either 'down right' or 'down left' when you press down, just adjust ur thumb to make it go exactly down. the reason this happens is because the joystick has 8 way navigation. i think SE should change this to 4 way so that it isn't so sensitive. maybe we should write to them and they can implement it in a firmware upgrade. hope this helps. |
