I have seen a post of a exactly similar problem. Not sure if it was here or on howardforums.com

Have you transferred everything over from the old case? A little while ago I changed the facia on a Samsung T100, and after I'd did it I found the backlight refused to go off. What I'd done was I forgot to transfer a tiny little magnet from the old case to the new one which told the phone if it was open or shut so it would turn off the backlight.

I wonder if there's something you've forgotten to transfer - a little magnet, contact, microswitch or something. Have a close look in your old casing - take both phones apart and compare whats in both housings to make sure there's nothing been left behind - no gaping gaps in the new housing where something must be, no little bits left in the old one, etc.

If its off ebay, it will be a shite case. My girlfriend bought a case for a samsung E800 and it had a magnet in the original, but on the new one it didnt, so the phone wouldn't recognize it was closed.

Hello,

Almost all current slide or swivel phones use a little magnet to detect if the phone is opened or closed.

If you got this as a brand new replacement housing off eBay or similar then it won't have the magnet already in. Sometimes the magnet can be tucked under a speaker or other component, hidden inside a rubber, under a spongey foam piece used as a spacer etc.

Just keep searching until you can find the magnet. Perhaps use another magnet to test for where it is. Unfortunately I have had no experience of opening these phones.

Good Luck

Glad to here you found the answer!

Just out of interest what's the quality of the case like, is it as good as the original?

Thanks
