Leaving W800 on usb through the night. |

Hi.
I usually leave my phone plugged to the USB port at night, when I go to sleep, while some MP3s are being converted-to-AAC-&-copied ( ) to the memory stick... is there any problem with my battery in the long run if I keep doing that? let's say that it's plugged for 10 hours aprox.
Thanks

It will probably damage your battery as the voltage from a USB 2.0 port varies all of the time, its fine for an hour or two, but not recommended for an overnight charge. As Private says it never fully charges the battery once it gets to around 85%.

My K750i and W800i both charge to 87% exactly every time. So, there's definitely a cut off point.
What I can't understand is that I've got the optional docking station and you can plug in the PSU (so it lights up) but even then it won't fully charge. I guess you can choose between USB *or* the PSU - but if you have the USB connected, it ignores the PSU - well, except for the green LED!
The other stupid thing is that you have a headphone/data connector on the side, but when it's connected to the PC you can't play any music as the Memory Stick is disabled from the phone!!
Perhaps this makes the dock one of the most pointless accessories around?!

I guess you could always just access the tunes from the mp3 folder and play whichever ones you want through the PC, no need to play them from the handset... |

Agreed, I cant see any reason why one would need to access files on the memorycard through the phone while the phone is connected to the pc. |

Just unmount the usb drive and leave it connected. Bob's your Auntie's milkman. |
