I'm asking this on behalf of my mate.

I'm pretty ignorant about both his network and his phone, but he had hoped to be able to surf the web on his 3G K608i as I do on my P910i.

However it appears that his web access is limited to sites that have been "approved" by 3. He has subscribed to 5Meg @ £2.50/month but fails to see the point given the limited choice.

I've only had 10 minutes with his phone, have I missed something?

Welcome to the World of 3.
Yes 3 Limit you to there sites that they approve only.

3 have lifted the ban on just 3 sites but you are still in a nice walled garden.

Nothing you can do, besides send the phone back and do some where else.

I have the K600i on Orange

The deals are the best ive seen.

Hope this helps

They have quite a lot of good sites.

The 3 portal is so slow, yet I move to the normal WAP and it's lightning fast.

I also got this reply from 3 when I asked about the limited websites:

Quote:

WAP Access

Thank you for your email regarding our WAP availability

Access to WAP is restricted at present as I'm sure you are aware. This is a new service that has recently been launched by 3. As the service grows and becomes more stable, the number of sites will increase and ultimately full WAP will be available to all 3 customers. Unfortunately, I cannot advise of any timescales as to if/when this service will become available.

If you have any further enquiries, please call our Customer Services by dialling 333 from any 3 handset which is a free call, or alternatively 08707 330 333 from any UK landline which is charged at national rate.

Thank you for contacting 3.

Yours sincerely,
