Disc2Phone Crahes! |

Just got my W800i.
After installing Disc2Phone I double click on the desktop icon and I get an exception error.
Anyone else get this problems and more importantly does anyone know how to solve it.
I am running Windows XP on a Sony Vaio laptop.
Regards

Have you uninstalled and re-installed it to try?

Yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times using both the version of disc2phone on the sony ericsson website and the version on the disc. I get the same result each time |

well the exact same thing happened to me last night. I just completed uninstalled it and installed it again and then it was fine. The error message suggested that i uninstall/re-install. Is that the msg your getting? |

The error message was not very informative - just telling me that D2P.exe had created an exception that the programme could not handle giving me an option to click OK or Cancel - one of which tried to open a propgram debugger (which is obviously not installed on my PC).
I have probably removed the application and reinstalled it 5 or 6 times, rebooting the PC between the remove and reinstall, but with no joy. As a result I am going to try restoring my PC to a point before this all happened and have another go.
One other point to mention. When I tried loading the software from disc I could not get any further than the Sony Ericsson screen as I kept getting a Quicktime error. As a result I had to start each application in turn to install the USB driver, PC Suite and Disc2Phone applications. |

Just did a system restore, reinstalled everything and guess what... still get the error message - D2P.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services, Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0x210(528), Thread id=0xd30(3376). Click OK to terminate the application, Click Cancel to debug the application.
I am not sure what to try next......

Mate, I've got EXACTLY the same problem and don't have a clue what to do about it. I'm going to phone Sony Ericsson tomorrow to see if they have any suggestions |

Sorry to hear you have the problem too... but maybe its good news becasue it means it might affect others, and the more that are affected the more likely Sony Ericsson will provide a fix. I was beginning to think I was a one off!
I left an email for Sony Ericssons support people yesterday but to date I have got no reply.
In the absence of a working Disc2Phone application I downloaded an addon from http://www.geocities.com/tvhuangsg/massstorsync/. This seems to work quite well with iTunes.
If you find a fix please let me know by way of a new post here.
Good luck! |

Tried turning my virus protection and firewall off. Sony Ericsson suggested I install .net Ver 1.1 from microsoft. Tried all these things but still getting the error I am afraid.
