this is what they said after the error i had when updating

"This likely means your network has not allowed or enabled your service to use the
Update Service. You will have to contact them and have them enable this for you."

if this is a problem with my computer or my internet i will be able to fix it. just wondering if anyone knows how my network could be the problem and what i can do to fix it!

By network they mean your phone operator (O2, Voda ??), not your internet.

It simply means that your phone operator has not yet released an approved firmwareupdate for your phone.

There are firmwares for unbranded phones, which are released by SE on the updatesite, and there are firmwares which goes to the phone operator for branding before being released on the update site.

Its not something you or SE can fix, you have to wait for your operator to release a firmwareupdate, or complain to the operator.

Thats Not true. I have an unbranded handset and they told me that i was getting that message simply because the service was down.

intresting. the way i interpreted it was that my operator (o2) has told sony ericsson not to offer updates via seus to its customers. that is really annoying, cause it'll probably mean o2 want us to go into their stores or something, im pay as you go and that is just toooooooo annoying to bother with!
