Engadget has some pictures of the new Windows Mobile-powered Treo, but it ain’t called the Treo 670 anymore (if it even ever was called that), it’s the Treo 700w (which implies—but doesn’t guarantee—the existence of a Palm-powered Treo 700p)
Here are the pics:
The Treo 700w vs. Treo 650.
"Welcome to the Palm 700w smartphone"
WI-FI sd card..
Battery Removed...
Some confirmed Specs:
Windows Mobile 5.0, one megapixel camera, EV-DO, Bluetooth, 64MB of memory
There is some confusion regarding the screen resolution,, whether it is a 240*240 or a 320*320..
Pls lock if this was posted earlier!

This is the design that originally HTC spec'd for the Treo650; but Palm wanted something more avant garde.
Treo650 is nice but the OS within it is dead - EOL and going onto Linux based OS core.
This 700W is sweet; I'm beginning to consider Windows Mobile for several reasons but just cannot decide. I really loved the flip design of the Motorola Mpx220 save for the horrible buttons. I'm considering a K-Jam variant because of the WiFi ability (b/g) but This Treo700W is pure bliss. I think it'll sell very well along with a GSM/EGPRS variant.
I'm in desperate need of an upgrade from my Nokia 6620; and just cannot decide. I always seem to get caught getting a phone that's been out for 6 months and like it for the same 6 months - during which I have a love affair with another phone and switch -> always 1 step behind the cutting EDGE. |

To be honest, i've never liked the treos..
The features are ok..
But the looks never did interest me..
Especially the Antennae..

It does look very clumsy. Not at all sleek and smart. But i think its specifically aimed at corporate users with features like ms exel, word and power point.

I was a fan of the Treo600 > but by the time I could buy one it was old and the 650 model had just been announced. I hate styling on the 650. This 700W I really love the keypad design. Treo's have always been a big competitor to RIM devices on a consumer market basis. But I think MS was smart to now have their OS on a Treo, and Palm was stupid not to have WiFi imbedded. Although, according to the webcast announcement of teh 700W, that a GPRS/UMTS version will arrive in the 2nd half of 2006 (expect no sooner than August'06), It'll be too late for those of us more knowledgeable about upgrade choices.
Funny enough though, after so long with the 6620 Im really getting bored of Nokia's styling - save for the N70 - and am now considering getting the K750i.
a new thread may come soon. |

Wish the screen could have been larger...plus the antenna removed
Then it would be fine!

yea... that antenna is a HUGE put off about ths phone IMO... if i had to pick between the smallish screen or the antenna... i would rather have the smallish screen... that antenna is just ugly haha

Also, you folks might have seen the wi-fi enabled sd card..
Now, what is the difference in having a wi-fi enabled card and having the feature built-in in the phone?
What are the advantages or disadvantages of having a wi-fi sd card??
Why not just give wi-fi capabilty to the phone??

Built in your stuck if the antenna cannot get good reception. External cards; you'll have some range of SDIO WiFi cards that'll have better reception due to the antenna. The downside is the replacement cost of one already purchased. |
