This is probably a stupid question, but hey, it doesn't hurt to play safe. What are the chances of putting a game on the w800 and finding it to be malicious after installing? Do such java games exist for these phones? I know there are some 'dodgy' files for the symbian phones, but I have no idea about the w800 etc.

Can anyone reassure me before I start sticking loads of java files on the phone?

Cheers

If you are talking about mobile phone viruses, relax!

No "virus" has yet been found to affect phones like the W8 and K750.

Its only series 60 handsets and probably some windows mobile powered phones for whom viruses have been written.

And no news of a java powered virus yet....go ahead!

Be careful when you download java games that people compress inside zip files, I found 3 trojan's when I scanned all the zip files of games that I have.

The only danger about installing games is wasted time.

Java is basically very safe in mobile phones because every app is constrained to itself. If it crashes or freezes, you can always restart your phone and there will be no permanent damage on your phone. You can always delete it without any hassle if you don't like it anyway.

Enjoy!
resistance is futile.

good point, however those trojans will only affect your computer, not the phone.
