Just wondering if Opera mini uses GPRS. I used it loads last month and was expecting a big phone bill, I got £17 worth of calls and £0 worth of media or text messages. I did however notice that I have 1mb worth of browsing free on my tarif but according to my bill didn't use any of it.

So it would seem that I used opera mini for free!

No I just installed it and started using it with no changes (apart from changing the language to English).

very easy.... click "menu" [that's the left soft key].. scroll all the way down to 4th option down, push 'right' joystick..that takes you to a sub menu, then scroll to 2nd option down [settings], click that... then at the bottom of that page, there is a pull down menu: choose English.. and voila! ur in biz...

Mate, if you really used it for free, then you r a lucky dude. As far as i know, they had stopped the free version of it quite some time ago.

You can still get it from here:

Download this in the WAP browser: http://davidpye.com/wap/opera.jar, refuse to run it immediately

Then download this: http://davidpye.com/wap/opera.jad, overwrite the pre-existing installation, DO NOT run it immediately.

Once installed in the Applications dir quit the WAP browser and load the programme.

It's in Norwegian, but you can change that to English in the "verktøy" menu under "instillinger" - change "språk" to English.

There are enhancements in the pipeline, as the operators would want a download ability if they were to include Opera Mini on their handsets, or offer it as an alternative browser.

I don't know when this will happen, or other things like multiple window support, but it's certainly planned. I guess it may depend on the handset (e.g. how much memory can be allocated to the app) but I hope SE products will cope the best!!
