Hello does anyone know a site which lets us access our Yahoo mail accounts via pop3. No i am not a payin user and also don't want to be.

Yesterday somebody told us that Hotmail can be accessed via pop3 without payin from pop3hot.com

So i think there must also exist some non.official site like this for Yahoo also.

King Singh- Dunno about that, but Yahoo does (did) allow users of certain regions (or those faking it by registering with THAT regions domain, details) free POP3 access. (Canada being one of them.. Till I last knew)

Don't know about that site much but i have software on pc that allows you access hotmail and yahoomail via pop3. But i want this to work on mobile.

@sailaab i don't understand this discrimination by providers. Some months ago my bro who lives in aus had 200MB mailbox while we used to get 5 MB in Hotmail So i shifted to Gmail. Although i dont use that much space but its quite luring plus pop3 access and mail forwarding.

Google is the king like me . Btw did you check out Google Earth. Its awesome

@Sukhdeep> Well, they can decide for their biznis tactics.

Think of it thus. You too may want to provide extra services to 'higher' revenue generating customers. And Promotions or not, Yahoo id (like my handfone num) is too widely circulated now to change.
Gmail doesn't luk bad now, that they keep adding (theoratically) 2GB+ space every few hours.
Earth is passé. I'm undecided whether to use Skype (under Ebay now?) , Google Talk, or Yahoo Msngr for audio calls over net.
But yes- I too use Gmaps on Java..

@sukhdeep- sailaab is right. You need to have a country specific domain. Yahoo provides free pop access in india but you need to have the domain @yahoo.co.in
i've been using this service for last six months.
Good luck!

Pop3 settings for the domain yaho.Co.In
pop3 server- pop.mail.yahoo.co.in smtp server- smtp.mail.yahoo.co.in
server authantication- on
secure connection- off
note-
1.these settings will only work on the email addresses having domain "yahoo.co.in"
2.You need to activate your pop3 service first.
3.To activate the pop3 access just log into your email account, goto options, click "pop access and forwarding" and activate the pop access.
Good luck!

@Rohit: I dint knew Yahoo was giving us "free" PoP3 access..

@Sukhdeep: Oye Khote, keda client (eudora, outlook, outlook express) hega ?
A] Different mail softwares would have different ways to set up, am sure Yahoo lists 'em. As I used PoP3 to access Y! Mails back when I got my 'spacious' 6MB id with them.

B] Like Rohit said, is it in the yahoo.co.in domain? Does your email id go like this-> yourUserName@yahoo.co.in ?

If you have access to a server (a machine that can be left running all the time) you can use an application (I know of a Java-based one) to check your yahoo mail and respond to you as pop3.

I don't remember the name now, but can easily find it looking in google

I am currently using Yahoopops to access my mail via Mozilla Thunderbird email clients, and it works fine, only with your PC directly connected to the internet (not through LAN). It also works with other email clients like Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.

Visit this site to for details and to download the software:
