Hey y'all, congrats on the nice forum, jst wonderin if ppl can give me a bit of help.
i recently found a w800i on a bus, n me the kinda f**ker who always wants smat for nothing i didnt hand it in, quite an improvement on my 3310...i kno i kno its harsh, bt i shud warn ya, handin phones in to bus drivers is a mistake cz the fkers jst take it for themselves.
nEway, i been usin it for the past WEEK and no problems, worked with ma Orange sim and ma o2 ones. bt then 1 day i wa switchin simcards n at the top of the screen it jst ses Inactive SIM. now sum ppl say to me its barrd and the fone is useless, other ppl been sayin aww if u take it to a shop, they will flash it for u n it wud work..i wantd to kno...has it been barred...like, by IMEI number? If i take it to a shop, can they fix it so i can use the f**ker again? Is it Illegal?
also i read about this "Flashing" changes the IMEI number and itd work again..is this true?
so basically i wna kno if the phone will work or is it only go0d for lining my bin with now?
ps. b4 nE1 ses, no i didnt steal it, and yes i did really find it on a bus...lucky i kno (felt kinda sorry for the person who lost it too...cz she was hot by the lo0ks of all the pics on the fone, if ya kno waht i mean ) |

How old are you ?
Taking something that doesnt belong to you is stealing, period, it doesnt matter if you find it on a bus or in someones purse. Didnt your mother or father ever teach you that ?
Honestly Im shocked that you got the idea that just because you accidently found it on a bus, it isnt stealing, and now thinks it somehow belongs to you. Im equally schocked that you actually suggest you can take it to a shop and theyl change the IMEI number to make it work for you. Naturally no legal shop will help you fix your stolen goods for you.
Yes, since you stole the phone the IMEI has obviously been barred, and you will not be able to use the phone, and yes naturally changing the IMEI in any way to try and make it work is not only illegal but also imoral.
You should make the rightfull owner happy again by taking it to the nearest policestation, just tell them you found it.
Then before going to bed tonight say a small prayer asking whatever God you beleive in to forgive you for your wrongfull ways.

Ok assuming you did find it,
1) You got a weeks use out of it.
2) you got to look at hot pictures.
3) you could have somehow contacted the owner of the K750i.
4) perhaps youre just another f**kin scuzzer.
5) speak English.
6) this isnt a forum for hookey phones.
And finally, if your story is real,,,, then give it up, buy your own, by now you know what a great phone it is! |

i dont think its stealing at all, he found it, thing is if he didnt take someone else would have, the person who lost it may have gotten a replacment already. It will only work over seas or you will have to change the imei which is illegal, inactive sims shows it has been barred.

How do you charge the phone?
Did she leave the charger as well?
personally i think its stealing you should have handed it in directly to the lost items dept at the nearest bus station. |

why don't you call the numbers saved in the phone book? that's what the guy who found my t610 almost two years ago did. then he dropped it off at my physician's office. what a doll. he called every number on my phone book, even left messages on my landline's answering machine to tell me that he'd found my phone. |

like some people say.
Finders keepers.
He found it, he can take it.
When you lose property of something, and another guy finds it its his property legaly. I dont know how it works in london. But thats how it works in the USA.
However you could always be a gentleman and try to call the numbers on the phonebook, to give i tback. dats it
But do not change the IMEI cuz this is illegal |

You'd be an absolute bugger not to return the phone.
Just think, someone is now down like $800 because you havn't called the numbers in their phone to try and contact them.
Same thing happened to me when my K700 went missing, although I am not sure whether it was directly stolen or just misplaced.
You've had a bit of fun, nabbed her pictures, and now you can't use it anymore. You did get the numbers off the SIM didn't you? If not, call the phone carrier the SIM belongs to and tell them the numbers on the back. You can probably get in contact with the owner that way.
The other option is to have a pretty looking paperweight on your desk and a dirty concience. Did the girl in the pics look like she could lose $800 and not even bat an eyelid? I know losing my K700 certainly caused me some problems at the time
Find a way to take it back to the owner. If you're lucky, you might get a nice little reward for it, and at the very least you can get a damn good feeling out of it.

By Uk law you have to hand in the phone to the Police. If the phone is not claimed within 3 months then it becomes the property of the person who found it. If it is not handed in then technically it is counted as theft. |
