Problem with mikesoft amr to wav converter |

Hi all (I'm new here btw, so sowwie if I make a couple of mistakes )
Anyways, my K750i wont play .amr files(which I got from a friend using K700). So I was poking around the forums for a good converter, and everybody seemed to be suggesting MikeSoft's converter...but when I try to convert (latest version 1.5), the conversion bar will just keep on going and going....the amr is onli 11kb, and it was still converting after 20+mins?(tried a couple of times)
(one thing though, the program states that the file is not a valid .amr file...but I just jacked it off me friends phone, and It can play on my PDA as well.. *confused)
Would be glad for any help
(btw, if anybody would like to try on the .amr's that I wanna convert, I'll be glad to mail it to them(thanks).
Much thanks to all. |

I haven't much experience using MikeSoft, never really bothered with conversions either since both wav and amr sound crap on my 6600... I'm sure somebody here will have the solution though. And welcome to Esato, buddy.

Thanks fer the welcome Seems like a great board, and I been trying to plow through those 100+ pages of a K750i thread, hahah
Actualli I'm not realli bothered about the format(preferably mp3 of course though), just that that amr is a very cute ringtone, so I want it, hahah

Are you sure that your amr file has been corectly downloaded from your mobile to your PC? Maybe you had a transfer file failure.
I would try to download it again from your PDA (because there it works according to what you write...) on your PC and see if Mikosoft mobile AMR convert (I agree that this software is very good and simple) can read/convert it.... if it works just upload it again in your mobile.
Create other amr files with your K750 (=record something) and see if your mobile is ok, then try to download and upload them to the PC, if everything is correct Mikosoft software should work propely.
I actually don't know if the amr standard of K700i is the same K750 standard even if I think really so (SE standard) but I think that is different from Nokia amr standard because Nokia users always say that amr sounds crappy... poor unlucky Nokia people SE amr sounds good!
Good trial...
Ciao!

yeah, actualli I determined that the .amr was probably corrupted. so yeah, its my bad, sowwie
I sent the .amr to me girlfriend's sister's phone, and it didnt work either (k700i), and I took an .amr from another phone, and its working on me phone, so I'm guessing that the file was corrupted, bleh, so I'm busying disturbing friends who had that ringtone at the moment, ahhaah, thanks all fer the help
