Hey people

Since so many of you have W800's I was wondering if you could post a small mini review on the headphones that came with them (hpm-70).

Most people may be thinking of purchasing them for their k750's to replace the poor headphones that came with it.

I would just like to know if they compare to the Sony mdr-ex71's or if there is any distortion at high volume and also if they are loud enough ( we all know playing mp3's through the k750 headphones was pointless because of the low volume ).

Thanks

I actually have a buddy of mine that has a K750 looking forward to buying the HPM-70, which go for about 20 pounds (GBP) on fleabay. I have had the w800i for about a month now and have loved the hpm-70's. Previously I've been using the Sony MDR EX71s and have been swapping them back n forth to compare the overall quality between the two. Firstly, the EX71s are by no means a high-end set of earbuds (so for audiophiles out there, these aren't the buds for you). The general consensus on these buds are that they have amazing in-ear bass quality. The sound, however, is a bit muffled. I found myself having to raise the volume just to listen to louder music. The HPM-70s are almost identical, exception being they don't "suffer" from the muffled sound of the EX71s.

Interestingly enough, using the EX71s on my W800i I don't experience the muffled sound as drastic. Compared with the HPM-70's, the EX71s has a "crisper" bass sound, but a lower treble (high-range). However, raising the volume to near max sounds great with both earbuds.

In conclusion, I enjoyed using both sets of earbuds with my w800i, but the HPM-70's produced SLIGHTLY more enjoyable sound, so I stick with those on my w800i. The EX71s sound great on everything else (my Nomad Zen, computer, etc.). Bottom line: If you don't mind spending the cash for the HPM-70s, get those. Otherwise, the EX71s do just fine.

It's Great! So much better than the hands free that actually come with the K750i.

I've compared the HPM-70 with my £40 (at the time) SONY MDREX81 and I must admit, I impressed. A little distortion with the bass and volume turned fully.

Totally worth the purchase.

Nice one keltenison, you too Lembo.

Awesome reviews! Sadly though I was at college today and so wasnt able to take delivery of the headphones so they're now at the sorting office waiting for me to come and get them tomorrow morning

Wow these headphones most be pretty damn good if they are comparable to or better than the ex71's I have as they are nigh on perfect (though not the best out there of course).

Cant Wait

More reviews are of course welcome.
