got a k750i couple of weeks ago and wanted to upgrade the firmware, the Java screen opened, then closed and gave me this:

"Your device is not permitted to use this service

Your operator does not approve the use of this service with this device.
We look forward to assisting you again soon."

so basically i just want to know what this message means, and someone to actually explain what unbranding/flashing means aswell, and if DaVinci can solve this.

if anyone has a way round this problem please get back to me

most appreciated.

before you post, make sure to use the search function on the site, as this has been addressed a few times already.
to answer your questions:
You are not alone, I got the same message yesterday as did others. The update service for the k750 seems to be down at the moment, so if you want to use SEUS, you just have to wait for them to fix it.
You can also use davinci to flash your phone, as they have the latest fw (R1N) available, but it will cost you to purchase a credit.
flashing a phone is when you re-write the firmware onto the phone, and de-branding is when you flash a phone with the intent of taking off the proprietary menus/pics/crap that companies put on THIER version of the phone(like vodaphone or tmobile does)

@Malachi Constant

Correction: R1N035 is not available at DaVicini yet as you claim. To those who think about getting R1N at TMS, please beware that it's R1N005 that they have, NOT R1N035... that's a developer version with a lot of bugs in it!
