I can't send a text message - why? |

I have a SE T630 and i'm on o2 network. When I try to send a text message it comes up with "message failed saved in unsent items". I used to be able to send them fine, so I can't understand whats going on. |

I'm on an O2 contract and haven't had any problems, though I also have an O2 payg sim and that until now hasn't been sending a text and coming back 'sending failed'. Just tried swapping the sim into another phone and it's sent one fine.
You may just need to turn your phone off then on again, try sending you text again. If that doesn't work, try another phone

Go to Messages in the menu.
Scroll down to settings.
Open "Text Message" (or similar)
Is the phone number to the Service Center there?

I tried switching it off and on again, but no change. I'm not goin to buy a new phone, surely there is a simple way of fixing this problem.
There is a number in the service centre field, so it can't be that either. |

Check with other guys on the same network if the service center no. is the same. Many a times a single digit gets changed accidently and that causes all the problems. If that doesnt work call up customer care.

I'm not sure if it of any relavance, but i've been having the same problem on my S710, and the service provider is telling me that it is a phone issue. |

I've got it fixed now. I contacted the SE support by email. They replied telling me that I had to scroll to connectivity, then scroll to data comm. then scroll to SMS access and select GSM. And that was problem sorted.
I thought there would be a simple solution |

Yes it was on GPRS. I must of changed it a while ago without realising the consequences of it. I didn't know that it affected the ability to be able to send a text message. |

I think this is an object lesson in not fiddling with settings you don't fully understand!
I've been guilty of that myself in the past!

@jbmac - To end your problem here, go to the nearest business center of your network, I'm 100% sure that your trouble will be fixed - ASAP! If the fone itself has a problem, I just hope that it's still under warranty so they can replace it. Good Luck !
