Greetings everyone,
How are you all?
I am a 2 week W800i user, and I've been using such SE phones as the P910i (good but... big), T610 and T630.
Sadly, all of them have one problem - poor support for Macs. I mean, USB driver updates, DIY firmware updates, are impossible because Sony Ericsson just provides the PC software, not the mac version. I am seriously considering returning this brilliant phone just because Sony Ericsson cannot be bothered to do anything for the mac users. When I open a new SE phone box I expect to be amazed by all of it... I don't want to see a PC CD that basically says "Hah, you're a mac user! Sucks to be you!"
If I'm buying their product I deserve to be treated like a full customer. Right now I am not.
Anyone know why SE isn't doing anything for macs? |

I want to be treated fairly.
I want to use the official transfer software supplied with the phone. I don't want to use an unofficial pay-or-be-limited piece of software, it just isn't fair.
I want to be able to update my firmware without sending the phone away. I want to be able to get updates for a better USB connection.
Those are the most important. |

Using a Mac with a SonyEricsson phone you get a far better experience than using a Windows PC!!
Why would you want to use SonyEricssons software, when Mac OS X has everything you need built in? I've used T68, T610, K700 and now K750 with my Macs and they've always worked perfectly, and much easier than my Windows PC owning friends...
The Mac OS X 'official' way to transfer files to the phone is far better than the SonyEricsson software supplied with the phone.
Just compare how easy Bluetooth is on a Mac to a PC.
I think you really should compare the experience on a Mac to a PC, then maybe you won't think you're missing something...

Use iSync on the Mac to sync everything with your phone - works much better than the rubbish PC software SE provides anyway. ALso the Mac should detect your phone anyway allowing you to drag and drop on to it. |

But what about SEUS, as mentioned before?
If I can't use that, what can I do to update the firmware? Send the phone away? I don't want a third party product.
Thanks. |

For the once or twice a year you my want to use SEUS just ask a PC owning friend! Or you can try using the Opera browser under Virtual PC. Some people have reported success with that - although others have been left with a trashed phone.
