i am from Kolkata. i use Airtel mobile office(gprs) . initially(6 months before) i subscribed it for Rs 99 . i WAS happy with it because i could surf internet in PC with my GPRS NOKIA set. one day, i heard AIrtel guys are increasing the mobile office rate from Rs 99 to Rs 249 . after that from my balance every month Rs 249 starts cutting. but what i got ? i WAS not able to connect and browse SMOOTHLY. it is now the worst service. sometimes i get connected to net , sometimes it does not connect. its become a hell. now a days i get eror " registering your computer with the network error" ....but every month they are cutting Rs 249 from my pre-paid balance. of course, i did not change any settings at all.

af far as settings is concerned i have only
APN=airtelgprs.com
proxy:none
pass:blank

Thats it. this was the settings i am using for the past 6 months. is this settings has become corrupted when they uplifted charge from Rs 99 to Rs 249 ?

DONT tell me to call 4777. because they are either always engaged or the number is switched off. i never got this 4777 working.

DONT tell me to send MO to 501 or 634 because i tried that. but the file came to me was not format supported.

i dial up from PC with *99# or *99***1#.

QUESTION to you guys
=================
are you people happy with the Airtel mobile office full internet on PC ? or i am the alone suffering from this problem in this world ?

Are you people using any other settings other than me which i showed above ? please tell me suggest me.

if you know some solution please provide me

my mail id : srcjnu@gmail.com . i use nokia 6020

Regards

hi, good that you people are very happy with the Airtel's mobile office full internet. but why mine not working ?

Will you please bother to tell ,

1) whether you are using any IP, gateway, proxy ? i am a subscriber but those CC guys knows nothing about GPRS . they do not know settings even . i am fed up with them. they always tell "4777" number which never works. i also sent MO to 501 but got file which did not open.

i am concerned whether i need some extra settings parameter apart from what i have mentioned.

Kindly, if your mobile office is working please please tell me the settings and i will have a try .

2) my signal tower is full. are all of you from Kolkata ?

Please guys, help to to resolve this problem

Thank you

Hmm, which Nokia are you using?
That might help to sort things out.

Also, please post whatever settings you currently use, i'll try to find if there's something wrong you're doing.

just one additional query,

i may test my Airtel SIM on a SE phone as one of you SE guy has got success .

i am using infrared . i have got driver for infrared. if i usde SE phone ,do i need any software for SE ?

the reason i am asking , you know, for NOKIA set you dont need even NOKIA modem driver from nokia site becoz Windows XP has in built "standard infrared modem driver". if i use SE phone do i need any Modem driver for SE OR Windows XP "standard infrared driver " will do the job ?

if you say, i must use SE modem driver then please tell me where do i get it ? i just want to run my internet .

Looks like you're not dialling the right CGDcont #...the *99***X#

The *x* has to have the right number for the connection to be established
