Is is possible to place a limit on how much your allowed to spend on your contract phone? For example if I dont want to spend more than £50 a month can I phone up o2 or whoever and ask them to put that limit on?

Are you referring to the U-fix contracts or can it be done on any contract?

I know it'd make sense to say its down to me to control my spending but when you only recieve a bill once a month its difficult to know exactly what you are clocking up on your bill.

I agree though most companies probably wouldnt let you do it due to the fact they'll probably lose money

U-Fix is the only way to cap bills on T-Mobile. Can't do this on normal contracts as sometimes and i mean sometimes, usage ect comes through a bit late on the rater-therefore could take you over your self imposed credit limit! Plus it's the usual story about lost revenue i'm afraid! Hope this helps :-)

Its a shame it cant be done, i mean its virtually impossible to keep an accurate record of your spending without writing down EVERY call and text your sending and thats just a bit anal if you ask me.

Ok theres pay and go but you dont get decent amounts of free calls and texts on that.

U can do this:reset ur clock at the begining of the contractual month and check the minutes u spend from time to time.Make an average price for a minute and then u'll know b4 the month ends how much u spent. Here,i send an sms to the operator and the system replies by telling me how much i spent on calls, how many mb's i have left for free.Don't u have such a system? It's a great sys!

Absolutely possitive P900i lover. If your not on a self service/online plan, you could always dial 150 option 1 free of charge-it's usually pretty much bang on! :-)

you definatly can on 02, but it takes the system 24 hours to update, so if you hit the £50 mark, you could go over by 24 hours worth of calls.... [addsig]

I have a credit limit of £75 om my O2 account. If I hit this limit then I cant call anymore. Luckily I only spend about £20 amonth.
