Hi guys, my P900 has finally died - the touch screen has being having problems for weeks now, and now last night night I must of passed near a magnet or something and the screen is now completely destroyed which has put an end to it, so i need a new phone *sigh*

Im a student on the Orange student tarif and two weeks a go i recently downgraded from the £50 a month tarif to the £30 monthly tarif, and my average bill is £150.

My 12 month contract ends in November, but obviously I can't wait until then, i need a phone today. How much is a phone going to cost me taking in consideration there will be an upgrade fee and the amount i spend per month - will that drop the upgrade fee? I didn't have any insurance so I guess they couldn't replace it either could they?

I cant afford a P910 (although they replaced my broken p900 for new free P900 on the student tarif last year, but i think i was past my 12 months), but need a sony phone as I use memory sticks daily, but it has to be cheap. I dod think of starting a new contract with another network, get a phone for free then cancel the contract asap.

Any ideas?

You could get a cheap secondhand P800 (or another P900 if you budget will stretch) just to tide you over till November when you can get your free upgrade, or get something like a Nokia 6320 (Though that takes MMC rather than mem sticks), or even a K700i 2nd hand if you can manage a couple of months without mem sticks

I'd steer clear of starting contracts just to get a free phone, they'll ask for the phone back if you cancel the contract straightaway, or if you try to do it after the first 2 weeks or month (can't remember which it is) they'll charge you a huge cancellation fee.

If the contract is up in december then the phone should be under warrenty?
If not, phone Orange and ask them how much to upgrade to a K750i now.
