Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to get Opera Mini to work on a w800 on Tmobile in the US?

I have Opera installed on the phone, set to english and have Tzones. I'm getting a Java error when I try to open a page. Help!

make sure you call tier2 to see if the ggsn is purged. Checking a wap wont guarantee you have port80 access.

So this should work with the $5.99 Tmobileweb package?

When I'm setting up the Internet Account on the phone if I choose GPRS it wants an APN and a uid/password. If I choose GSM it want a phone number and a uid/password. I didn't have to do any of this on my T610. Am I doing something wrong?

This is the basic settings.
gprs
apn: wap.voicestream.com
no username or password.

Make sure you go to the settings, then connectivity. Towards the bottom, there is "settings for java"
Select the correct profile.

Ive got that and an ip address of 216.155.165.50, still no luck. Do you need a DNS address set?

Under Connectivity> Inet Settings> Inet Profile> (profilename)> More> Settings

Ive got the options:

Inet Mode- HTTP or WAP
Proxy- Yes or No

What do you have those set to?

Thanks

Im going to start from the beginning.

Connectivity, data comm, data accounts,
listed is T-Zones GPRS (or whatever is listed)
hit edit,

apn: wap.voicestream.com
username *blank*
password *blank-
login request *off*
allow calls *automatic*
ip address *blank, or ..."
dns *blank or ..."
authentication, i have the following checked off. (works for me) *none *pap *chap
data and header compression *off

Ok, then under inet settings,
click "internet profiles"
select one.
edit
Connect Using "t-zones gprs"
Internet Mode *http (my pref. you can set it for wap if you visit wap sites mainly. I use opera, i keep it at http)
Use Proxy, None.

Save

Settings for Java
(needed for opera to work.)
Select profile.
Hopefully this helps.

Does anyone have Opera Mini working on a T610 with T-Mobile USA t-zones unlimited? I just spent the last three hours on this forum and Howard Forums just getting the stupid .jad file to install properly!!! Anyway, the program is now installed, but whenever I try to go to a site, it just says "Processing" and then a dialog box comes up that says "An unexpected error occurred. Your browsing experience may be limited". I read that Opera Mini doesn't work with WAP. I don't know how to set the T610 to use html though. Is that even possible? HELP PLEASE...I don't want the last three hours to have been a waste. I think there must be a way for it to work since others have said that it works. [addsig]

Thanks for the help danska, does that setup work for you in the US?

I have the phone setup exactly as you suggested, but I get Failed Connection errors when I try to search google with opera mini.

What do you have for "Preferred Service" and "SMS Access" under Data Comm? Those are the only other possibly relevant setting I can find.

Thanks again.

Ok, I went here:

https://secure.mouse2mobile.com/clients/tmobileUS/ota_support/

put in WAP and chose T610 and now I can out via Internet Services. Still can't use opera mini, but I'm 1/2 way there now.

Ok, now I got opera to work. I changed from wap to http and I'm golden.

Looks like all the settings were what you suggested, though for some reason it didn't work setting them manually.
