Hello,
I own a P910i which I'm barely using to the the levels its' capable of. I have been in touch with both Sony and Comviq, my carrier, several times to get to grips with my dysfunctional e-mail. I just did the hair-raisingly slow update procedure which more or less had me on the brink of throwing the dock station out the window with frustratation. I have requested the settings from my phone company over and over and the walk-through below just shows the results that I get from installing the settings they send me by SMS.
It's 2 am and tomorrow spells work work work - with little or no chance to make that valuable time spent commuting worth much. I need this e-mail to start working...
Are there certain pre-requisities for which SMTP and POP servers that work? I have a web hotel at domainnameshop.no which I'm trying to work for receiving (pop.mydomainname.se) and I am clueless to what to use as my smtp but from browsing the forums I reckonned I'd try smtpserver.swip.net for my provider. I try this and smtp.myinternetprovider.net, to name a few.
I have giant hands and a short fuse, please help.

Have you tried getting the settings from the SE website?

I did, and was somewhat confused. It didn't resemble setting e-mail up much, as I know it from using a PC. The settings from the java-driven web page only had options for picking a lot of carriers I don't have any relation/subscription to. In the end I just called SE service center (is it just me or is it kind of hard to navigate on SE's site?). He wasn't half-bad. Felt like talking to someone straight off these very knowledgeble boards. He had me up and running in no time. Wish I'd done that a year ago instead of running around with an expensive as hell un-synced calendar with a plethora of doubles and triples of contacts imported from my T100. Well.. that's my next hurdle. Getting the contacts arranged. |

Hi have a SE P910i and continually get an error when downloading my email.
WAP is fine though.
I always get the 'Dnd error: bad name' message when it is trying to download the messages from my Yahoo! inbox.
how can I fix that please - what is the Sony Service Center number?
thanks
