K750i and Bluetooth Headsets |

I have tried 4 different Bluetooth headsets with my K750i. They all pair without problem. But try using it ..... within the first few seconds of connecting the headset acts as expected (accepting an incoming call and talking to the caller, or making a call using voice dialling). But, wait any longer and it all goes wrong ....
An incoming call can be accepted (i.e. taken off-hook) by using the button on the Bluetooth headset BUT the sound comes out of the phone and you have talk to the phone's microphone.
Similarly, voice dial is initiated with the button on the headset BUT you have to say the voice command into the phone and then the call stays in the phone and can't be transferred to the headset.
It appears that the audio path to the headset gets lost. I had hoped that the new release of firmware (R1N035) would address this, but it doesn't, at least not with the I-tech Clip Headset. I don't have access to the other headsets to try them again at the moment. But I have assumed that since the fault symptoms are the same for all four headsets that the problem is generic to the K750i software.
Bluetooth file transfer works very well, so I know the "wireless bit" works fine.
Headsets I've tried :
I-Tech - Clip Headset
Sony-Ericsson - HBH-608
Jabra - BT200
Bluetrek - G2
Does anybody have a Bluetooth headset that works reliably with their K750i?

In reply to Bart's question : which headsets did you use?
I have updated the first post in this thread to show the sets I tried.

strange. with the latest firmware it shouldn't be a problem with some of those headsets.

Since upgrading I have only tried the I-tech Clip Headset because the the G2 and the HBH-608 were returned to the shop and I haven't been able to borrow the Jabra again. I had assumed that since the fault symptoms are the same with the four listed headsets that the problem was generic to the K750i.
Bart : Which one or ones on my list would you expect to work? Also, can you please let me know why you feel they should work.
Thanks,

I have the same problems with my G2 on my K750 with R1N.
It would appear that the G2 uses bt 1.1 & 1.2 while the K750 uses bt 2.0

I paired my K750i on R1N with a HBH-608. So far so good n did not experience anything like what the thread starter described... |

I've been using a comparatively cheap Kingcom Dolphin KM-168 (handed down from my previous T630) on my K750i very successfully (even using voice commands) when it was still on R1L002. I haven't tested it when I updated to R1N035, except for voice calls. I'll test it tonight. I'm not sure if Kingcom is available outside Asia though.
I previously got a(n even cheaper) Popcom BT headset but exchanged that for this current one since the Popcom BT had too much problems with the T630. Most annoying thing was similar to your losing the call to the phone, and I also had to pair the darn thing every time I turn it on! |

I've copied this from the K750 firmware thread:
I've just had a bit of a issue with a R1N035 K750i and a HBH-660 BT 1.1 headset.
Basically when audio is transmitted to the headset I got about 5 seconds worth and then the audio cut out. The BT connection is still active, the call hasn't been dropped, and both devices have plenty of battery life.
Switching the call back to the phone continues the call.
Tried a number of BT 1.1 headsets and they all seem to cut out. Tried the same headsets against K750i's with older firmware and they work okay.
A selection of HBH-662 BT 1.2 headsets work with the R1N035 K750i...
So, it looks like R1N035 might have issues with BT 1.1 headsets. I'm going to test this later today with other headsets/K750i's... BTW, I did a master-reset on the R1N035 K750i and it made no difference...

Happycheesecake, the issue you describe is EXACTLY the issue I've just had with a prior K750i on Orange (amongst 4 issues), but with my HCB-300 car kit. That phone was R1A, replacement is R1L, but only had it 2 days and it's too early to tell - previous phone was fine for first week...
i don't want to revert back to my T610 & T630, but I tell you what, bl00dy bluetooth simply worked, no messing... |

It's been several weeks and I guess I can report that there are no bugs when using the Kingcom Dolphin KM-168 bluetooth headset with the K750i (china) on R1N. The KM-168 has no separate display, you'll need to look at the phone (when using in the car) or guess (if the phone is in your pocket). But it's a small compromise since the headset retails at around PhP2,800 (about US$50) only. |

My K750i works fine with HBH-660, except from a little low volume from the headset. Got a little louder I think after upgrade. If you get the sound to your phone click the left button on phone and transfer sound to headset. |

oh yeah, i forgot to say that with the K750i & KM-168 bluetooth headset, the phone asks if the incoming call should be taken in the phone. if you don't answer with "yes" or "no" the call automatically goes to the headset. with voice tags enabled, pressing the main (call) button on the headset during an incoming call gets the call on the headset at once. on standby, it activates the voice prompt & you have a few seconds to utter your command. it's pretty useful, especially when driving, you don't need to look at the phone at all. i think that's one good thing about the K750 - it's not as confused about voice commands as earlier phone models, which either confuses your command with another or don't recognize your command at all. i hope you do find a headset there that works as well with your unit... |
