Mobile Gaming vs Nintendo Gameboy Advance |

All these new great phones coming onto the market are all offering a whole load of new and exciting games on them. Having looked at the new P800, the games look like they will be better than any other seen on a mobile phone.
But from my experience of being a long term T68 to T68i, and other Nokia phone user is that ultimately the games on mobiles are a load of crap! Poor way to control the game, poor graphics and sound and in the end, poor gameplay. Do you think that mobile gaming will ever reach the heights of the Gameboy Advance? Its the ultimate handheld gaming machine at the moment.
Right now I'm ignoring all the gaming possibilities offered by these new phones and happy to carry a T68i to speak and text on, and a GBA to game on.
What do you all think? Which do you prefer - carry one unit that does it all but limited gameplay experience or T68i + GBA for the best experience? |

I prefer the T68i+GBA sollution. U can never get good games on a phone. When I buy a phone I never look at the games on it. I do not care about the games at all. It's just a + when u buy the phone. |

I prefer a Gamecube with TFT attachment, but it's a bit big. The same can be said for the GBA when compared with a mobile phone.
You need a big screen for good games, unfortunately this will increase phone sizes and make the portability factor much less. It's a trade off, buy the correct device for what you want it to do - you don't buy a microwave oven to do your washing (if they built one that did, it wouldn't handle a very big load). You want a digital camera, buy one because the Nokia 7650, P800 or T68i + Communicam is not in the same league.

Look at us all! Boy have we come a long way from the days when a phone was used for basic calling functions. I used to have a Motorola V120C, and that had no games on it, and no downloadable ringers, and I was the most happiest person with a phone. I now have a T68i, and of course the gadgets on it are amazing, but the games really don't matter. I didn't buy my phone to play games on it, I bought it to communicate with people. So if your a big gaming fan, just do the phone-GBA solution, cuz phones will probably get fancier, but I doubt games will!

I doubt we'll see gameboy type games on our mobile phones any time soon. On the P800, sure, you can even play 3d games on it, but the interface for such games lack.
I do look at the games on mobile phones when I purchase my phone (It's not an important feature, but it does help), simply because some of the games they have are great ways to pass the time. Although, I'd much rather they support text based D&D RPG games or something similar (From like the C64 days), it would be much more fun.
